Mr. Akira Nishihara from Japan designed the illusion ring based on the concept developed by Bill Gosper, Lissajous Roller.
When the butterfly shaped ring is rotated, you will see the ring being spinning rather than rotating like on the movie! It is somehow easier to see the illusion when you rotate the ring toward you with your one eye shut.
It is very simple design, but it requires precise precision to make it work, so the ring is produced by a jewelry ring manufacture in Yamanashi, Japan.
The base ring is made of a mixture of silver and copper. The color of this ring will change as the time goes by.
There are also gold and Rhodium coated version as well.
