This Karakuri box was created for an exhibition on the theme of "Ancient Times."
The motif is a kind of amphibian; the ichthyostega of the Paleozoic Devonian.

It is not sure if they could walk properly because we are not even sure if they could move the hind legs. They might had been able to move forward by dragging their bodies using only the front legs.
There are so many uncertain things with this creature, but it is also fun to think and imagine how things were at the time.

These uncertain factors are the clues to open the box. It is not that difficult to open it, but still very interesting mechanism and I would say it is worth trying.
